2021 FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE

Rose City Baseball Club is proud to accept the honor of hosting the longest running fall  baseball league in the Pacific Northwest. This league is a continuation of Jerry Gatto’s vision to create baseball opportunity for our community. The staff will remain the same, and the philosophy of facilitating baseball to aspiring amateur baseball players will continue.

The 2021 league will be organized and managed by Jeff Bard.  He is proud to have facilitated this league for the past 10 years. RCBC will use its expertise and experience to continue what Coach Gatto started.  The RC staff of  Mark Hills, Kenny Dirk, and Casey Dyer will work to help streamline the league and create a seamless transition.

We will run three levels of baseball….AAA (Varsity level), AA(Junior Varsity level) and A (JV2/Freshman level). The AAA Division will be geared towards high school baseball players who already have varsity experience or will be a varsity baseball player in the spring of 2022. The AA Division is for players who are currently playing JV baseball or will be playing at that level in the spring of 2022. The A Division is for incoming freshman and advanced 8th graders that will be freshman in 2023.

Cost for the league will be $2100 per team. This will include scheduling, field fees, umpires, baseballs, and the administration of the league. If a team or group of players has a need for uniforms, a coach, or additional players, please inquire with Jeff Bard at the contact below. If you have a field that the league can utilize to play games, then a donation/rental fee will be paid back to your program based on the field’s availability for use. Each situation will be considered individually.

The league will start Sunday, September 12th and will run 8 weeks. We will play every Sunday.  Weeks 1 through 4 will be standard league play. Weeks 5 and 6 will be seeded.  Weeks 7 and 8 will be make-up weekends to accommodate for rainouts. Week 7 will be a seeded weekend based on the standings at that time. Our goal is to give each team the opportunity to play 4 double headers and 2 single 9 inning games for a total of 10 games, weather permitting.

The league will have access to multiple city and high school fields within the Portland-Metro area. Some travel may be required on 1-2 weekends as we will have teams from Longview and potentially from Salem. We will only ask a team to travel once within standard league play.

Standard league games (DH's) will be 7 innings with no new inning after 2 hours. Ten run rule will be enforced after 5 innings. If the game is tied after 7 innings and you are still under the 2-hour time limit, you will play extra innings until a winner is established or the time limit is exceeded. Teams can tie in standard league play. There will be 30 minutes between games. Our goal is to minimize the time on field but maximize our baseball. Each team will be issued 2 dozen baseballs and will provide 2 game balls per game. If your team is HOME team game 1, then you will be the VISITORS for game 2.

**AAA and AA Divisions will use wood or composite wood bats. The  A Division can swing BBCOR certified drop 3 bats
